Let Earth-N-Turf show you how we can trim dollars off of your maintenance budget by having us to do your commercial mowing and trimming. After going over the numbers we think that you will agree that it is more cost efficient to have us take care of the lawn maintenance.

Weed Control
Earth-N-Turf guarantees every application that we do. If you don’t see the weeds beginning to die within two weeks from the application date, call us, and we will do a free service call to re-spray the area in question.

Herbicides are used to control both grassy and broadleaf weeds. Herbicides have different modes of action and therefore should be applied at the correct time and at the correct rate. Click here to have a state licensed lawn technician give you a free lawn analysis.

Insect Control
There are several species of surface and sub-surface insects that attack turf. Any one in sufficient numbers can cause serious damage. One indicator of surface insect activity is large flocks of birds feeding on your lawn leaving pencil sized holes in the thatch or top of soil area. Surface insects include Aphids, Chinch Bugs, Sod Webworms, Fleas,Ticks and Fire Ants.

Sub-surface insects are harder to detect but animals like skunks, raccoons, and moles will actually dig up the lawn to feed on these underground insects. Sub-surface insects include Grubs, Billbugs, and Mole Crickets.

Earth-N-Turf offers guaranteed control of all lawn insects. Click here for a free lawn analysis.

Fertilizer
The basic requirements for plant growth are air, water, nutrients, and a suitable environment. Supplying the plant with essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium is one of the most important management practices for maintaining turfgrass growth. There are only 16 nutrients that have been determined to be essential for plant growth. These nutrients are divided into macronutrients and micronutrients.

Primary macronutrients are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. The amount of these nutrients required by turf will change depending on the time of year, whether it is a new or existing lawn, soil conditions, and overall plant vigor. Each primary nutrient plays an important role in the overall health and vigor of your lawn.

Nitrogen (N)

  • Promotes vigorous blade, leaf
    and stem growth
  • Promotes dark, green color
  • Used in larger amounts than any
    other element

Phosphorus (P)

  • Stimulates early root development
and growth when seeding or sodding
  • Hastens plant establishment
  • Encourages fruit and flower production

Potassium (K)

  • Influences rooting and wear tolerance
  • Influences drought and cold tolerance
  • Used by the plant in large quantities

Magnesium (Mg)

  • Plays a role in photosynthesis and
    Chlorophyll production

Sulfur (S)

  • Works with nitrogen to produce new
    Protein for plant growth

Iron (Fe)

  • Required for the for the formation of chlorophyll
  • Promotes initial greening

Lawn Renovation
A few dandelions are easy to eliminate; but when they cover more than 50% of your lawn and are accompanied by other weeds, it’s time to renovate. To renovate a lawn means to kill out the existing lawn and sow seed after cultivating the soil with a slit-seeder. Renovating is much less expensive than completely reestablishing the lawn because you don’t do all the steps involved with installing a new lawn. Renovation is recommended when the soil is in good shape, loose, well drained, and level. Click here to have Earth-N-Turf give a free estimate for a lawn renovation.

New Lawn Installation
A new lawn is a fresh start. There are no weeds and no bare patches because it exists only on a landscape plan or in your imagination. Having a thick, green, weed free lawn not only makes the yard look good, but it makes the architecture more appealing.

Lawns are places where memories are made. That’s why there are so many grass stains in the laundry. Grass makes an ideal playground, and it even cushions a fall. Thick turf makes a soft mattress beneath a picnic blanket, and it smells fresh and feels good on bare feet. Choosing to get your new lawn off to a good start is one of the wisest decisions you can make concerning your investment in your new house or property.

New lawn installations include bringing in topsoil (if needed), grading, tilling, leveling, soil preparation, adding soil amendments, and seeding. Earth-N-Turf uses only the highest quality seed. Click here for a free estimate.

Aeration / Over-seeding

Aeration / Over-seeding should be done in the Spring or the Fall not only to relieve soil compaction, but also to repair Summer insect and drought damage. Aeration / Over-seeding will also ensure that your lawn continues to thicken and develop a strong root system for the next growing season.<back to top>

Aeration:
• relieves soil compaction allowing grass roots to expand
• provides greater access of air, water, and nutrients to the root zone
• introduces microorganisms to break down the thatch layer
• provides seed-to-soil contact when over-seeding
• aerator holes create a moist , protected, environment for seedling growth

Seeding
Because high quality seed is limited in quantity, it sells for a premium price. You may be tempted to have Earth-N-Turf use a bargain seed to save money but if the seed is a bargain, then there is always a reason. Seed selection is very important when seeding any property which is why Earth-N-Turf uses only a high quality seed.

We will seed any area, no matter the size. Whether it’s a small bare spot in the front lawn or a 25 acre field, we have the equipment to handle any job. Click here for a free seeding estimate.

Sod
While a seeded lawn may take a growing season to mature, you can have a mature lawn in a single day with sod. It has the advantage of being uniform and weed free if a good quality sod is used. You can also plant over a much longer period of time. The window for seeding is limited to a few weeks during the optimum growing season, but sod can be laid anytime from early spring to late fall, as long as you’re able to provide sufficient moisture. Earth-N-Turf uses only high quality sod.
